Time

Time is flying by. Don't help it by wishing even a second of it away. The weekend will arrive when it's supposed to arrive. Five pm will come. It always does. Stay focused on "the right now" and the important work you're doing. Wishing time away builds muscle memory so you become better at wishing time away. I cannot tell you how many people have told me that their summer is flying by. Of course it is. These same people are wishing for Saturday on Wednesday. So when they want time to slow down and to enjoy the moment, they don’t have any practice in doing so.

Also, avoid the temptation to obsess over what happened last week or last month. Those situations are over and perseverating on them will hinder your ability to be unstoppable in the right now.

It’s not complicated,

There’s a reason why it’s illegal to text while you’re driving. Because it’s impossible to be focused on one thing while doing another thing at the highest level. How often are you behind someone who’s driving erratically, only to pull up alongside them and they’re looking at their phone, not the road?

Some of us are leading in this way. Some of us are living in this way.

If there's an interaction from the past week or so that's bothering you, make a decision: if something is incomplete and needs to be addressed, address it. If addressing it won't make any difference at all, let it go. But don't let whatever it is consume you.

Time is unstoppable. It’s undefeatable. But you can slow it down if you avoid wishing for a future that’s hurtling toward you anyway, and if you actively work to stop thinking about things in the past that you can’t ever change. Stay present. Do great things right now. Make time work for you.
